LUIS MARIANO

luismariano-profluciaguarnido

Flamenco guitar Teacher

Luis Mariano Renedo de Lucas (guitarist and composer) was born in Granada in a family without a Flemish tradition, which was not an obstacle to awaken in him the curiosity about the guitar and art to which he would later devote his life. He began his teenage learning at the hands of local guitarists Pepe ‘El Marino’ and ‘Gazpacho’, with whom he would learn his first chords. A short time later he was hired by Angustillas “La Mona” to work in the Granada tablao La Reina Mora. Here he graduated in the rhythmic, aesthetic and flamenco issues, especially the accompaniment to the dance.

Later, I would visit the main tablaos of Madrid: Las Carboneras, Casa Patas or Café de Chinitas. At the same time it was done with the artistic and musical direction of ‘La Venta del Gallo’, tablao run by Juanillo Heredia, and whose shows he made during five years.

He began to stand out among the young generations of Granada guitarists and was required to accompany leading figures such as Antonio Canales, Rafael Amargo, Mariquillla, Juan Ramírez, Diego ‘El Cigala’, Estrella Morente, Marina Heredia, La Tati, Juan Andrés Maya, Curro Albayzín, Jaime ‘El Parrón’, .. And later on young dancers like Manuel Liñan, Lucía Guarnido, Patricia Guerrero, Fuensanta “La Moneta”, Jara Heredia or Tatiana Garrido.

In his long journey he has trodden such important theaters as the Calderón de Madrid, Cathedral of the Cante de Las Minas de La Unión (Murcia), the Central University of Caracas (Venezuela), the National Theater of Tehran (Iran), Teatro Albéniz de Madrid , Medical Association of Madrid, the María Pitá Theater in Lima (Peru), La Opera de Damasco, the Sadler´s Squire in New York or the Lope de Vega in Seville, to name just a few examples. He has been awarded two National Awards in the Jumilla Guitar Competition; First prize Golden Grape for the best solo guitar 2006 and a special mention to the touch by tarantas.

His solo touch is a clear continuation of the Granada aesthetic: clean, well-matched and intelligent, thus capturing the attention of some of the most well-known feathers of Flemish critics, among which Manuel Martín Martín’s words stand out: “His touch is accurate , honest and fed up. Undoubtedly the best that has come out lately among the sonantas Granada

He produces and collaborates as a guitarist in several albums of first figures of the cante of this country, such as La Voz del Agua, by Marina Heredia or the show Pastora 1922, by Estrella Morente. He also participates, under the direction of the teacher Manolo Sanlúcar, in the Magna’s Work of Flamenco. Currently he accompanies his guitar and composes the music of artists such as Manuel Liñán (Taurus, World and Apart, Duende), Lucía Guarnido (A mi Aire, Suma y Sigue), Fuensanta La Moneta (La Moneta Paso a Paso, Duende) or Patricia Warrior.
